Job Description

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Finance Operations Team is seeking a MDG COE - Global Data Expert in Pune.

Join our Finance Operations team as a Global Data Expert and help strengthen the quality, governance and operational reliability of finance master data across a global organisation. Based in Pune, this role sits within the A2R Master Data Governance Centre of Excellence and works closely with regional data experts, finance teams, business functions and IT partners.

Accountabilities:

• Review and validate finance master-data change requests, ensuring alignment with defined standards, controls and governance processes.
• Manage and support requests relating to SAP approval matrices, Concur approvers, bank keys and other finance reference data.
• Partner with regional data experts, A2R, I2P and finance stakeholders to assess data changes and their upstream/downstream impact.
• Investigate escalations, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring data issues.
• Maintain process documentation, deliver user training, prepare operational reporting and contribute to global data-governance improvements.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance master data, data governance or finance operations within a complex, multinational environment.
• Hands-on experience with SAP MDG, SAP workflows and ServiceNow-based request or case management.
• Strong understanding of finance master data, including General Ledger, cost centres and profit centres.
• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, A2R and/or I2P processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, filters and data analysis.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capability, including issue management, root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder-management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Desired qualifications:

• SAP FICO certification.
• Experience with CFIN workflows, data transformation, data mapping and data lineage.
• Experience defining KPIs, operational metrics and performance reporting.
• Experience delivering end-user training and maintaining SOPs, DTPs or process documentation.
• Relevant degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related discipline, such as MBA Finance, MCA, B.Tech, BCA or B.Com
