Design Engineer

We are looking for a Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and 3D modelling to join an international technology company developing AI-powered security screening systems used to help protect people in high-security and high-traffic environments.

You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, software and other cross-disciplinary specialists to bring complex electro-mechanical products from technical requirements through design, prototyping and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product layout designs for security screening equipment based on technical requirements
• Design product enclosures and mechanical components using technologies including sheet metal processing, milling, turning, welding, 3D printing, injection moulding, thermoforming and extrusion
• Perform basic strength simulations of critical components
• Prepare technical documentation in accordance with relevant ISO standards
• Support production and supervise the implementation of designs at different stages
• Participate in the assembly of prototypes and pre-production samples
• Identify opportunities for design optimisation and implement design improvements
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams throughout the product lifecycle

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
