Job Description

📈 Who We Are:

We are rebuilding the energy transaction, making it transparent and fair.

Our goal is to put power back where it belongs, in the hands of customers and to take on one of the most critical problems of our century, access to low cost electricity.

tem exists to fix a broken global energy market that’s long favoured legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing. Today’s electricity system was not designed for rapid decarbonisation, AI-driven efficiency or fair access for the actual users - businesses and generators.

We’ve built the first AI native transaction infrastructure to reinvent how electricity is bought, sold and priced. Our technology is designed to cut out the inefficient fees, automate complex market flows, and bring transparency and fairness to energy transactions at scale.

In late 2025, after extraordinary growth, we closed a $75 million Series B - led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Albion, Atomico, Allianz, Hitachi Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Schroders Capital and others - positioning us for global expansion, deeper product innovation and category leadership.

We’re scaling internationally and building toward a future where AI-driven infrastructure is foundational to electricity markets worldwide.

Since launch, our modern utility product, known as RED, has already facilitated thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving that modern software and AI can transform an industry built on legacy systems.

At tem, we’re not just building another energy company, we’re rearchitecting market infrastructure so that transparency, efficiency and sustainability become the default, not the exception.

The Role:

We're hiring a Senior Product Manager, Rosso.

This is the second product manager on Rosso, reporting into the Rosso Product Lead. Rosso is deeply technical, built on ML-led models and complex engineering covering forecasting, pricing optimisation and portfolio balancing, so this is a role for a technically-minded PM who's happiest closest to the hardest problems. You'll work on complex, important problems as they arise across the Rosso product surface, alongside the other PM on the team, rather than owning one fixed patch. In the near term that means the portfolio area: fulfilling and balancing a growing two-sided portfolio, managing imbalance, and finding the revenue and margin in every position we hold. It's still forming, it carries live financial risk, and it needs someone who wants to win in it.

You will:

  • Take business and customer needs and turn them into feasible, shipped product, working closely enough to the ML and forecasting work to make good calls on it.

  • Own the technical-product detail, setting clear success criteria for how well a model or forecast needs to perform, and designing for the edge cases and operational reality of a system carrying live financial risk.

  • Drive open product decisions to a close - yours and the team's - so delivery keeps moving at pace, with a clear Now, Next and Future for the initiatives you own.

🚀 Responsibilities:

Turn needs into shipped product

  • Take business and customer needs and turn them into feasible product execution, balancing them against nascent ML and forecasting innovations that push the frontier of what's possible.

  • Take initiatives from discovery through to regularly released product, with a clear Now, Next and Future for a given area.

  • Drive open product decisions to a close, so work keeps moving.

  • Decide what to formalise, what stays a prototype and what to drop - be the editor and builder, not just the instigator.

Own the technical-product detail

  • Work embedded in full-stack teams that include ML/data science and software engineers, close enough to the models to make good calls.

  • Set clear success criteria for how well a model or forecast needs to perform for the product to work, and design for the edge cases and operational reality of a system that carries live financial risk.

  • Pull and interrogate your own and others' data to influence and inform decisions, and reason about model performance and error as business indicators.

  • Get close to the people who use what you build, from internal commercial teams to generators and businesses externally.

Win in the portfolio

  • Concentrate, in the near term, on the portfolio area while it's still forming, without that becoming a permanent boundary on where you work.

  • Treat hedging, imbalance and trading decisions as product decisions: when to hold a position, when to trade it out, when to reprice to close a gap in the portfolio.

  • Find the tangible and most pressing problems worth solving - such as whether to buy or build a new forecasting capability, or how to ensure Rosso reacts at scale to any event in the system.

  • Chase the commercial outcome, not just the shipped feature - the measure of this role is margin found and risk managed, at pace.

🎯 Requirements:

Must haves

  • A product manager with real product execution behind them: owned at least one complex product area end to end, with a track record of moving real business outcomes, not just shipping features.

  • Commercial drive. You set the pace for yourself and the people around you, push decisions to a close, and go after revenue and margin. You want to win, and it shows in how you work.

  • Experience in or around trading. Energy trading is the ideal, but financial trading, fintech, battery or EV trading all count - you understand positions, hedging and what it means for a system to carry live financial risk.

  • Uses data analysis throughout the product process, to validate ideas, progress work, and measure success.

  • ML-literate: has worked closely enough with ML and data science to make good calls on model-led products, and can reason about model performance and error as business indicators.

  • Built product in a startup, scaleup or other high-growth environment, with high personal ownership of an area.

  • A strong instinct for failure points, edge cases and the operational reality of a live system.

  • AI-native, AI-literate and AI-critical - you know where it helps and where it hurts.

  • A clear, structured communicator, especially in writing.

Bonus points

  • Hands-on energy trading experience - intraday, day-ahead, imbalance or battery optimisation.

  • Experience where forecasting or fulfilling a two-sided marketplace is central to the product.

  • Experience going through a third-party-access and/or international-expansion transition.

  • Experience with regulated industries and data-heavy products.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive salary - our current band for this role is £85,000-£93,000 or equivalent in local currency.

  • Stock Options - everyone on the team has ownership in our mission.

  • 25 days holiday + public holidays - Swap public holidays for ones that matter most to you. Plus, get an extra day off for your birthday 🎉.

  • Remote & flexible working - We're fully remote with clear core hours, and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.

  • Home working & wellbeing budgets:

    • Up to £1,200 / €1,200 annually to upgrade your remote setup (co-working passes, equipment, etc.).

    • Up to £150 / €150 monthly on anything that supports your wellbeing - from therapy to gym memberships to meditation apps.

🗣️ Interview Process:

Our processes normally take around 2-3 weeks from first call to offer - please let us know about any adjustments to timelines that may be required.

  1. First call with our Talent Team (30 Mins). This is to understand your experience, motivations, and discuss the role in more detail.

  2. Behaviour Interview with our Product Lead (45 Mins). This is your chance to really understand the role, the expectations, and ensure alignment on ways of working.

  3. Technical Interview with the Team (75 Mins). You’ll meet with potential peers to discuss how you drive product execution, work closely with ML and engineering teams, and think through real product scenarios - built around a real product decision shaped by a model or forecast, so we're testing on proof, not assertion.

  4. Bar Raiser Interview with Stakeholders (45 Mins). The final session will be with two cross-functional stakeholders, and will explore how your values align with ours, and is designed to be a genuine two-way conversation, your chance to understand what it’s really like to work at tem.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, including those that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech and energy sectors. If you’re excited about this role but not sure you meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. Your unique perspective could be exactly what we’re looking for.
