Construction Materials Manager

Responsibilities 

• Oversee receiving operations: Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials, ensuring they match purchase orders and specifications.
• Quality control: Conduct inspections to verify quantity, quality, and condition of shipments, reporting discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
• Inventory accuracy: Ensure timely and accurate entry of received goods into the inventory management system.
• Team leadership: Direct and train receiving staff to meet construction schedule targets.
• Supplier coordination: Serve as the primary contact for suppliers and freight carriers, resolving shipment or delivery issues.
• Safety and compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Process improvement: Develop and implement receiving procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Budget management: Manage departmental expenses and assist in preparing operational budgets.

Skills and Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have 8 to 10 years’ managing or supervising materials for large multidiscipline construction projects.  
• Recent experience managing materials receipt, inspection, storage and issuance to construction on a large construction project, preferably for a new power plant, is a plus.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and supply chain processes.
• Ability to manage relationships with suppliers and carriers.
• Leadership and training skills for a team.
• Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations in warehouse environments.

This position is subject to qualification requirements in accordance with ANSI/ANS 3.1. Candidates must meet the minimum education and experience criteria applicable to the role, including relevant nuclear industry experience where required. Verification of data will be part of the hiring process.

Job details

Salary Range: $151,882 – $202,510

Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Wyoming State.
