Housekeeping Floater

We're seeking a full-time Housekeeping Floater who thrives in a hospitality-focused environment and enjoys being part of a dynamic, resident-centered team. This highly visible role interacts daily with residents, guests, family members, nursing staff, and team members throughout the community while helping to maintain the beauty, cleanliness, comfort, and safety of resident apartments, Life Centre (Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Support), laundry areas, and public spaces. As a Housekeeping Floater, you'll support a variety of essential functions including cleaning and disinfecting resident multibedroom apartment units and common areas, changing linens, assisting with room turnovers, replenishing supplies, supporting laundry services, operating housekeeping equipment, and helping to uphold infection prevention and safety standards. This versatile role offers variety and flexibility, providing coverage where needed across the community, supporting special projects, and helping ensure every space reflects the high standards of hospitality and wellness that define The Mather experience. The ideal candidate has previous housekeeping experience, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, enjoys interacting with older adults, and is committed to creating welcoming spaces that enhance the resident experience.
This is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To best support our residents and community needs, flexibility to work Saturdays and Sundays, is required as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs a variety of tasks which provide and maintain the cleanliness and safety of resident rooms/homes and common areas.

Sanitize, vacuum, dust and perform trash removal, and maintain a clean, stocked housekeeping cart and closet.

Coordinates daily housekeeping services with housekeeping management.

Competently operates various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical.

Changes bed linens according to established standards.

Recognizes and promptly reports maintenance problems and unsafe acts or conditions.

Notifies supervisor when supplies are low and demonstrates responsibility for the conservation of supplies, chemicals, equipment, and utilities.

Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- Ability to read and follow instructions to complete routine tasks and communicate in a friendly, responsive manner.
Preferred:
- High school or equivalent.
- Previous housekeeping experience.
The hourly base wage range provided is a good faith estimate of what Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, certifications, years of experience, geographic location, and current market conditions.
