The Opportunity
Mural Group is partnering with a major steel manufacturing facility in Apple Grove, WV that is in the commissioning and startup phase of a significant capital build-out. We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to own the on-site installation and commissioning of the plant's electrical infrastructure -- power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, and PLC and control room systems.
This is a hands-on, high-visibility role. You will work directly with site leadership to sequence and execute the electrical build-out in line with actual plant operating conditions and reliability requirements. If you want ownership of a capital project from planning through commissioning rather than a desk role, this is it.
What You Will Do
Lead on-site installation of power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, and PLC and control room electrical infrastructure
Serve as the primary point of contact for all electrical installation activity, coordinating contractors, vendors, and trades crews
Develop and manage the electrical installation schedule, sequencing work to minimize disruption to active steel production
Review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and PLC room specifications to guide field execution
Troubleshoot installation issues in real time across electricians, millwrights, and controls technicians
Ensure PLC and control room infrastructure (power quality, grounding, backup power, cable routing) meets requirements to protect sensitive equipment
Track project progress, budget, and material logistics; escalate risks before they affect schedule
Support commissioning and startup including testing, energization, and handoff documentation
Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, local code, and plant safety protocols
What You Need
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment -- steel, metals, or heavy industrial strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience leading electrical installation projects from planning through commissioning
Working knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, MCCs, and PLC room electrical requirements
Ability to read and apply electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules in the field
Comfortable on an active construction site coordinating across multiple trades
Strong communication skills -- able to advise site leadership on trade-offs, not just execute a spec
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Must be willing to be on-site full-time in Apple Grove, WV
Preferred
Prior experience in steel, aluminum, or heavy metals manufacturing
Familiarity with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC platforms from an electrical installation standpoint
PE license or actively working toward one
OSHA 30 certification
