Job Title: Service Manager  

Work Location: Tucson, AZ - CBP AZ Regional Facility Maintenance and Repair              

Labor Category: Full-Time | Exempt

Clearance Level: No - Public Trust / Tier 1 (As Applicable)

Travel Requirement: Up to 50%    

Annual Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Scope of Work:

The Service Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the contract and provides direct oversight of service technicians performing maintenance and repair of HVAC, mechanical, building systems, and equipment. This is a hands-on, working management position that requires active participation in field maintenance and repair activities while providing leadership, technical guidance, quality control, scheduling, and coordination of contract activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day service operations and coordinate maintenance and repair activities in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Supervise, schedule, and provide technical direction to service technicians performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs.
  • Actively participate in field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities alongside service technicians as needed to support contract requirements and daily operations.
  • Conduct and oversee quality control inspections of building systems, equipment, and completed work.
  • Monitor work order performance and ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and with required documentation.
  • Coordinate personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractor support necessary to accomplish contract requirements.
  • Monitor service activities for compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), quality standards, and established procedures.
  • Communicate with customers, management, technicians, and subcontractors regarding work status, priorities, scheduling, and operational concerns.
  • Promote compliance with applicable safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities and changing operational requirements while maintaining effective organization and workflow.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a technician working with HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing quality control inspections of building systems and equipment.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing service technicians and working with contracts of similar size and scope.
  • Must possess and maintain a current trade certification in HVAC or Mechanical Systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, building systems, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair practices.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the field alongside service technicians as a working supervisor.
  • Experience with work order management, quality control documentation, and contract performance requirements.
  • Experience supporting federal facilities, operations and maintenance contracts, or similar government contract environments preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or project management certification such as CAPM preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in both office and field environments and requires regular access to facilities, equipment, and active maintenance work areas.
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform activities involving pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around mechanical equipment and other workplace hazards while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
