Role Purpose  

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Change team, primarily supporting Tokio Marine Europe (TME) and its portfolio of transformation initiatives across Europe.  

Based in Barcelona and reporting to the Business Analysis Practice Lead in London, you will work closely with colleagues across TME and the wider Enterprise Change function.  

This role will be primarily dedicated to TME’s extensive portfolio of transformational projects of varying sizes and complexity, and to supporting multiple workstreams across Europe to deliver efficiencies in our operating model. 

As a core part of the Enterprise change capability model, business analysis is vital to the successful delivery of change across TMHCC International. This role will report into the Business Analysis Practice Lead, planning and delivering high-quality change that enables business owners to realise benefits Working within the Change Delivery Framework, you will be able to bring your experience both in delivery, but also continuous improvement as part of our Centre of Excellence and Community of Practice. 

About the team  

This team is responsible for maturing change prioritisation, planning and delivery within TMHCC International, including Tokio Marine Europe Enterprise Change sets standards to drive repeatability and consistency, whilst enabling change to happen at a local level through federated change and product teams At the same time, it is the conduit for understanding change coming into the business from our corporate relationship and ensuring alignment across the business for successful implementation.   

The team are accountable for Enterprise Change projects, those being the largest, most complex projects that typically span more than one business area (such as regulation change) or enable those teams without local change capability to deliver change. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Effectively builds knowledge of TMHCC’s business strategy, business drivers, capabilities and processes. 
  • Works with senior stakeholders to develop business visions and strategies through strategic analyses, feasibility studies and business cases  
  • Utilises analysis skills to support the scoping and set-up of new business change projects  
  • Defines and owns the business analysis approach to be taken to assigned projects – ensuring project stakeholder agreement and adherence to standards.  
  • Acts to understand the business environment and elicit business requirements from stakeholders at all levels of seniority.  
  • Appropriately analyses and documents requirements to ensure these are of high quality and understandable to all stakeholders – working in either Agile or Waterfall methodologies  
  • Ensures robust requirements management activities are carried out including clear end-to-end traceability, prioritisation, change control and approval.  
  • Represents the business requirements in the definition and testing of business solutions, working closely with solution partners and suppliers  
  • Develops and applies business analysis best practice tools, techniques and standards throughout the project lifecycle  
  • Supports the development of the business analysis practice by sharing knowledge and contributing to maturity development activities  
  • Leads, mentors and coaches others on the business analysis career path or project as appropriate  
  • Learns from previous experience by participating in in post-implementation reviews, lessons learned sessions and knowledge share/peer reviews  

 

Skills and competencies required  

  • High School education or equivalent 
  • Demonstrable experience working autonomously as a Business Analyst across complex change projects and throughout the full project lifecycle.  
  • Strong experience defining and applying Business Analysis approaches within Agile and Waterfall environment 
  • Experience of planning and facilitating workshops of varying size  
  • Experience of different project methods 
  • Strong understanding of business processes (as-is and to-be) and industry standard modelling techniques that may be used to document these e.g. BPMN 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders 
  • Strong time management and task planning skills 
  •  Fluent English, both written and spoken. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio. 

 

Skills and competencies preferred 

  • BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or progress towards 
  • Knowledge of strategic analysis techniques (SWOT/Porter 5 Forces/Balance Scorecard) 
  • Experience of creating or supporting the development of high-quality business cases 
  • Understanding of data analysis techniques e.g. data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and data models 
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape within which an insurance company operates 
  • Experience, or demonstrable knowledge, of the insurance industry including a strong understanding of the end-to-end policy journey and different insurance products and services 
  • Fluent in any other European language
