Senior Admissions SAT/ACT Tutor
TPAPT is looking to add a full-time Senior Instructor to join our Westport Chapter's Admissions Test Prep team. In particular, we are seeking someone with a significant track record of helping students prepare for the ACT and SAT, but we welcome experience with the ISEE, SSAT, MCAT, GMAT, GRE, and/or LSAT as well.
This is not a remote position. All work is performed at our center in Westport, CT.
What We Do
Our instructors teach information processing, self-monitoring, critical thinking, and problem solving strategies to help students understand fundamental principles about how the world of ideas is organized and how they can best interact with that information. This process does not involve the rote memorization of vocabulary or inundation of practice questions that many associate with “test prep.” Instead, we focus on teaching students effective strategies for gathering, sequencing, tracking, and classifying information from text and visual sources. These processes contribute to a student’s ability to reason, solve problems, make inferences, and draw conclusions. We help students develop the skills, self-awareness, and confidence to become more capable, independent learners, meaning our work extends well beyond preparing students for a single examination.
