Team Overview
The Finance Billing team works closely with Finance, Sales, and customer-facing teams to ensure customers receive accurate, timely billing support and a high standard of service. The team plays an important role in supporting revenue management, financial controls, and customer satisfaction by ensuring billing processes are completed accurately and efficiently. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in billing operations, revenue processes, and stakeholder management while working within a collaborative finance environment.This role reports to the Billing Team Leader.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise in billing, financial operations, contract interpretation, and stakeholder management while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of key finance processes.
- Deliver a high standard of service to internal and external customers by processing billing activities, reports, and requests accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Interpret contracts and contract amendments to identify billing requirements and ensure customer information is configured accurately within billing systems.
- Support the monthly billing cycle by producing invoices, credit notes, and related billing documentation, helping ensure accurate revenue recognition and customer billing.
- Investigate and resolve complex billing enquiries, working collaboratively with Finance, Sales, and other stakeholders to achieve positive customer outcomes.
- Prepare management information and reporting to support financial oversight, decision-making, and operational performance.
- Monitor unbilled revenue and identify potential risks, escalating issues where appropriate to support financial controls and revenue assurance.
- Support monthly revenue verification activities, helping ensure billing accuracy and financial integrity.
- Contribute to audit activities and ensure billing processes comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements and established financial procedures.
- Participate in billing system testing, process enhancements, and customer onboarding activities to support business growth and operational effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, controls, and service delivery while contributing to wider Finance team objectives.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
At least two years' experience within billing, contract administration, finance administration, or a similar financial operations environment.
Experience interpreting contractual information and translating requirements into accurate billing processes, supporting billing accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to investigate queries and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, ensuring the accurate processing of billing information, reporting, and financial controls.
GCSE (or equivalent) qualification in English and Mathematics, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Required Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reconciliations, and management reporting.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Experience producing and managing invoices, credit notes, billing reports, and related financial documentation.
Ability to work effectively with billing systems and financial platforms.
Understanding of billing controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
