IT Infrastructure & Operations Lead

We are partnering with an established company operating in the financial services sector, with a strong reputation in its field.

The company is looking to strengthen its internal IT function by bringing in an experienced IT Infrastructure & Operations Lead. The role will take ownership of day-to-day IT infrastructure and internal IT operations, while contributing to the development, security and continuous improvement of the company's technology environment.

The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on technical expertise with a proactive and solution-oriented approach, supporting both employees and the wider business. The role will cover Microsoft and Azure-based technologies, IT infrastructure, cloud services, security, access management and internal IT processes, with the opportunity to work closely with other IT specialists and external technology partners.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day IT infrastructure and internal IT operations
• Provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line IT support to employees
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, access and connectivity issues
• Manage user accounts, permissions, devices and access rights
• Set up and configure laptops, workstations, mobile devices and other IT equipment
• Maintain and support the company's Microsoft and Azure-based IT environment
• Support cloud infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure
• Manage onboarding and offboarding from an IT perspective
• Monitor IT security, access controls, updates and backups
• Maintain IT documentation and asset inventory
• Work closely with other IT specialists
• Coordinate with external IT vendors and technology partners when required
• Proactively identify recurring problems and implement long-term solutions
• Contribute to improving and developing the company's IT infrastructure and internal processes
• Support the implementation of new IT tools, systems and technologies

Your profile

• 3+ years of experience in IT Support, IT Administration, System Administration or a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies and services
• Experience with Microsoft Azure / Azure-based environments
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Entra ID (Azure AD) and user/device management
• Understanding of networking, end-user devices and IT infrastructure
• Experience with access management, security and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of IT-related issues
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues
• Proactive mindset and willingness to improve existing processes
• Experience as a Senior IT Support Specialist, System Administrator or IT Team Lead would be a strong advantage.
