Technical Editor
Purpose of the Role
The Technical Editor accurately implements instructed changes into aviation operational manuals and related documentation, collating provided content into the required structure and applying the correct styles, formatting, and standards. The role supports timely, high-quality Technical Publishing delivery by producing manuals that meet client requirements, applicable service levels, and TrustFlight quality standards.
Scope & Decision-Making Authority
Works within defined task scope, implementing instructed changes from approved sources without making independent technical or content decisions
Manages own workload and task prioritisation to meet agreed deadlines and service levels
Escalates unclear instructions, missing information, content conflicts, and capacity constraints to the relevant Author.
Operates within established Technical Publishing processes, styles, templates, and JIRA workflows
