IBM DB2 z/OS Support & Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IBM DB2 z/OS professional to provide operational support, implement Rundeck backup automation, assist with DB2 V13 upgrades, assess z/OS lifecycle supportability, modernize automation workflows, and deliver comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

IBM DB2 z/OS Support

● Provide day-to-day IBM DB2 operational support on z/OS. ● Support database refresh activities and generate DR/RR dumps. ● Troubleshoot DB2 issues triggered through application workflows or Rundeck. ● Act as the primary DB2/z/OS Subject Matter Expert.

Rundeck Backup and Automation

● Assess the existing Rundeck environment hosted on OCI virtual machines. ● Design, configure, and validate a backup Rundeck environment on OCI. ● Replicate jobs, scripts, plugins, configurations, and credentials securely. ● Ensure the backup environment can take over during primary-environment failure. ● Test artifact generation, dump-file extraction, and database creation workflows. ● Document backup, restoration, and failover procedures.

Automation Version Control and Documentation

● Inventory all Rundeck jobs, scripts, and automation assets. ● Store automation code and job definitions in Git or another version-control system. ● Prepare SOPs covering job execution, failure handling, and recovery. ● Create operational runbooks for routine support activities. ● Support switching between primary and
