Caregiver (DSP) - Cool, Young Man (NW Portland)

We’re seeking a caregiver “Personal Assistant” who will support a cool, young man that experiences developmental disabilities. He lives in his own apartment near NW 19th. He is independent and active, and interested in screenwriting, creating comic books, going out for coffee, playing video games, and hanging out at Powell’s. He needs your assistance to prepare medication and meals, do household chores, bathe, and get dressed. You will also assist by providing some life coaching and talking him through situations when he is experiencing anxiety.
Driving is not a requirement for this position. However, if you choose to drive, there is available street parking in his neighborhood. This young man lives near the popular MAX lines for those that rely on public transit.
You’ll work two shifts per week, totaling 27 hours per week:
- Friday 8:00PM – Saturday 9:30AM
- Saturday 8:00PM - Sunday 9:30AM
*If you are available to work an additional 3 hour shift, your total hours would be 30 hours per week. The day can be of your choosing.
*You’ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.
