About this role
As a key member of Udemy's Enterprise design leadership team, you will lead product design across our Enterprise business — spanning both the Coursera and Udemy platforms. Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Design, you'll set design vision and direction for how organizations equip their people with in-demand skills, building and coaching a team of product designers along the way.
This is a people-leadership role first: you'll spend most of your time growing designers, shaping team culture, and connecting design work to business outcomes. But you're also expected to be a credible practitioner — able to jump into Figma yourself, prototype with AI tools, and set a concrete design bar when a project needs it, especially for early-stage vision work.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coach a team of product designers across our Enterprise business, covering the full arc from acquisition and onboarding through admin tooling, learning programs, analytics, billing/retention, and partner-driven growth.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in product and engineering, acting as a strategic partner who helps shape roadmap and priorities — not just executes against them.
- Use business context and user insight to spot opportunities for design-led innovation and connect work across multiple teams.
- Coach and develop your team: create opportunities for designers to lead initiatives, give direct and honest feedback, and manage performance with clarity and care.
- Shape team culture: build a collaborative, motivated team with a clear sense of purpose tied to our mission.
- Plan for the team's growth: recruit, organize, and deploy talent to match business needs, and identify future leaders within the team.
- Elevate craft quality by bringing in strong examples from peer teams and the industry, and by giving direct, actionable critique.
- Stay hands-on where it counts: personally prototype and visualize concepts — using modern design and AI tools — especially in early vision-setting work, so the team has a concrete bar to build toward.
- Translate design initiatives into quantifiable business value, and contribute to your team's success metrics.
- Balance business value, quality, and effort across multiple workstreams, keeping a bias toward action while tracking key metrics.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with 3+ years leading and managing design teams.
- Experience designing enterprise or B2B products at scale — admin/back-office tooling, business dashboards, or platforms serving large organizations.
- A track record of using AI tools as part of your own design and prototyping process, and of helping your team do the same. <
