Union Maritime Limited is a London-based shipowner and operator. Its core business is the product tanker market, focused on MR2 and larger vessels, alongside a presence in the dry bulk sector. The company is also investing in its future fleet, with newbuild hulls at Wuhu Shipyard in China. Decisions on when to buy, sell and build are central to the business, and the S&P / Strategy team sits at the heart of that work.

Role Purpose

The Junior Analyst will support the S&P / Strategy team in tracking the secondhand, newbuilding and demolition markets, analysing potential acquisitions and identifying areas for investment across tanker and dry bulk. Working closely with Guy Blunden, the Senior Associates and the Analyst, you will turn market data and broker intelligence into clear analysis, practical tools and well-reasoned recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Market Monitoring & Intelligence

·         Monitor vessel sales, asset values, newbuilding orders and contracting, and demolition activity on a daily and weekly basis across the tanker and dry bulk markets.

·         Review broker reports and market intelligence, track comparable sales, and flag notable transactions, price movements and emerging trends to the team.
