The PIT team develops software solutions that automate processes, simplify workflows, and improve service reliability across engineering and operations. As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll collaborate with engineers and UX designers to build scalable, accessible, and reusable applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
You'll also explore how AI assisted development and agent based tooling can improve software development workflows. This internship offers practical experience in full-stack engineering, modern development tools, and creating solutions that help teams build and deliver products more effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and improve internal platforms, tools, and applications using AI assisted development to support faster delivery and experimentation.
- Build accessible, reusable user interface components using React and TypeScript.
- Develop middleware services in Node.js to support integration between frontend and backend systems.
- Collaborate with the UX team, engineers, and stakeholders to design scalable applications and improve user experiences.
- Contribute to AI native developer tooling, agent capabilities, templates, and workflows that help teams build applications more independently.
- Participate in code reviews and agile team ceremonies while exploring ways to improve engineering productivity and AI assisted development workflows.
- Work independently and collaboratively to solve technical challenges, gaining practical experience with Git, modern web development, and internal developer tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React and tools like Git.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture.
- Exposure to Node.js or other backend technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Interest in using AI assisted development tools to build, prototype, and solve engineering problems more effectively.
- Familiarity with foundational AI/ML concepts is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI tools, models, or frameworks (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) is a plus.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Eligibility:
