Powerline Technician (PLT) Foreman / Foreperson
Our Distribution group is currently seeking Powerline Technicians (PLT) Foreman / Foreperson to join our team, based in Drayton Valley, Whitecourt and/or Edmonton, AB.
Reporting to the Operations Lead, these positions lead the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, working with cables, conduits, and associated equipment like transformers and splicing tools. In this position you will install, troubleshoot, and repair power lines, often working at heights or in confined spaces such as trenches.
Please Note: This position may require local travel to locations within Alberta for up to 14 days at a time. We also have a PPE and FR Clothing program for our employees to ensure you have what you need to work safely at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead installation, splicing, terminating, and maintenance of overhead and underground power cables, vaults, conduits, and related equipment
- Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and other crew members, conduct performance reviews
- Audit construction operations for compliance and enforce equipment maintenance schedules
- Perform troubleshooting, fault locating, and repairs on distribution systems
- Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment such as cable pulling rigs, fault locators, splicing kits, and test instruments
