Director Finance, Tissue Machines and Converting Lines BU

We are looking for a senior finance professional to lead finance for Tissue Machines and Converting Lines Business Unit. In this role, you will be a key member of the business unit leadership team, global Tissue BA finance leadership team and lead a finance team of project controlling. The role combines strategic finance leadership with hands-on project business controlling in a complex international environment. You will ensure accurate and timely financial information, but your true impact comes from challenging the business, identifying risks and opportunities early, improving financial performance, and translating numbers into clear actions for management.
Your main responsibilities include
- Acting as a strong finance business partner for business unit management, project execution, sales and operations, supporting both operational and strategic decision-making.
- Driving financial performance of the project portfolio throughout its lifecycle, including project estimates, margin development, risk and opportunity management, cash flow, currency exposure and revenue recognition topics.
- Leading monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, forecasting and analysis in business unit level, including clear management presentations and actionable insights.
- Leading and developing the business unit finance team, ensuring strong capabilities, clear roles, effective collaboration and continuous development of people and ways of working.
- Ensuring compliance with Valmet financial processes, IFRS principles, accounting rules, internal controls and project financial governance.
- Driving continuous improvement of finance processes, management reporting and data-driven analysis across the business unit.
Expectations for you
To succeed in this senior role, you should have:
- Master’s degree in finance, business administration, industrial management or another relevant field.
- Solid finance leadership experience (minimum 5 years), preferably in an international project business environment with global business partnering.
- Strong understanding of project financials, including cost estimate, revenue recognition, margin analysis, cash flow, risk and opportunity management, currencies and project governance.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop finance professionals and to operate effectively as part of a business management team.
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills and ability to simplify complex business and financial topics into clear conclusions, recommendations and actions.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting and IFRS principles; experience with ERP systems, HFM, SAP, Power BI and project financial tools is considered an advantage.
- Fluent English skills and readiness to work in an international environment with reasonable travelling and flexibility across time zones.

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
