Help shape the future of offshore wind

As Head of MetOcean, you'll lead a talented team of specialists whose work helps shape some of Europe's most ambitious offshore wind projects. Together, you'll turn complex weather, ocean and environmental data into insights that support better decisions, safer operations and stronger project outcomes.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll combine people leadership, strategic thinking and technical oversight. You'll help create the conditions for your team to thrive while ensuring that MetOcean expertise continues to create value across the entire offshore wind project lifecycle.

Working closely with colleagues across Development, Engineering, Project Delivery and Operations, you'll play an important role in reducing uncertainty, managing risk and supporting the successful development, construction and operation of offshore wind projects.

Your role

As Head of MetOcean, you will lead and develop a team of highly skilled specialists while setting the strategic direction for the discipline.

You will:

• Lead, coach and support a diverse team of MetOcean specialists, helping them grow and succeed.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team environment where people feel empowered to contribute and develop.
• Define the long-term vision and capability roadmap for the MetOcean function.
• Ensure the team has the right skills, tools and resources to meet both current and future business needs.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across forecasting, environmental modelling and analytical approaches.
• Establish and maintain high standards for quality, governance and delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders across Offshore Development and other business areas to support informed decision-making.
• Translate complex marine and weather-related information into practical insights and recommendations.
• Support project value creation through risk reduction, forecasting excellence and improved decision-making.
• Champion digitalisation, data-driven ways of working and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll bring a combination of people leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

You are likely to have:

• Experience leading, coaching and developing specialist or technical teams.
• The ability to create clarity, inspire collaboration and enable others to perform at their best.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience influencing decisions and building alignment across functions and disciplines.
• Experience gained within offshore wind, marine industries, energy, environmental services, large-scale infrastructure projects or a similar complex environment.
• Experience managing programmes, budgets, consultants and strategic initiatives.
• A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and developing people.

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be valuable:

• MetOcean studies and assessments.
• Marine environmental analysis and forecasting.
• Offshore construction support and workability analysis.
• Risk management and uncertainty reduction.
• Digitalisation, advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
• Forecasting tools, modelling approaches or AI-enabled solutions.
