Social Media Contractor

Walker Sands is seeking a Social Media Contractor to join our social media team in a full-time capacity for approximately four months. This individual will provide temporary coverage for a team member and will step directly into active client programs, serving as a social strategist and hands-on practitioner across brand social, executive social and influencer marketing.

This is a highly client-facing role for someone who can quickly get up to speed on complex B2B businesses, build trusted relationships with clients and account teams, and independently move work from strategy through execution. The ideal candidate has significant agency experience, strong B2B social media expertise and direct experience developing and executing influencer and creator programs.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The contractor will work closely with Social Media, PR, Creative, Account Management and other agency teams across multiple client engagements. While this is a temporary position, there may be an opportunity for longer-term employment based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a social media lead across several B2B client programs, developing strategies across brand social, executive social and influencer marketing.
  • Lead client conversations, present recommendations and provide confident strategic counsel on social media programs.
  • Develop social audits, channel strategies, campaign frameworks, content strategies, editorial calendars and other strategic deliverables.
  • Map, write and review social content and provide strategic feedback on creative concepts and assets.
  • Manage social content from planning and approvals through scheduling, publishing and optimization, using tools such as Sprout Social.
  • Identify and evaluate relevant influencers and creators based on audience fit, credibility, content quality, engagement and brand safety.
  • Manage influencer activations, including campaign briefs, outreach, creator communications, negotiations, content review and execution.
  • Analyze social and campaign performance, establish appropriate KPIs and benchmarks, and turn results into actionable recommendations.
  • Use social listening and analytics tools to support reporting, audience research, competitive research and strategic insights.
  • Draft polished client communications and independently manage day-to-day client needs, deliverables and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional social media or digital marketing experience within an agency setting. 
  • Strong B2B social media background, ideally including experience with enterprise, technology or other complex brands.
  • Hands-on influencer and creator marketing experience is required, including experience working directly with influencers and/or their representatives.
  • Experience across brand social and executive social programs, particularly LinkedIn.
  • Experience with social media management, listening and analytics tools; Sprout Social experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills.
  • Strong strategic judgment paired with a willingness and ability to execute the day-to-day work.
  • Highly self-directed, organized and comfortable stepping into established client programs with limited ramp-up time.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working across account teams in a fast-paced agency environment.

Contract Details

  • We strive for salary range transparency in our hiring process. This is a major step towards not only complying with regulations where required, but also to make sure pay equity and DEI are top of mind during the hiring process. Below is the starting salary for this role:
    Starting Salary: $4,000 – 6,000 monthly
    • Placement on the salary scale will be determined by various factors, such as, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, education, business or organizational requirements and internal equity.
  • Full-time availability, Monday through Friday during standard business hours, for the anticipated contract period of mid December, 2026 through mid April, 2027.
  • Able to participate in client and internal meetings during normal working hours and respond to client and team needs with the consistency expected of a full-time member of the account team.
