Corporate Accountant

Your Role at Walker We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities:  Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist with weekly, monthly, yearly accounting processes (accounts payable, expense reports processing). Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies. Manage state and local city registrations, licenses, and related tax filings. Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against targets. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data. Assist with the identification, design, and implementation of AI automation tools. Participate in tasks and research with the current Strategic Plan implementation. Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Accounting to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and increased efficiency.
