Senior Machine Learning Engineer - AV Core

The role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Wayve's AV Core organisation, you will lead on methods for large-scale data curation and mining, including rare events from a heterogeneous 
fleet, enabling model introspection for robust driverless operation. You will bring insight into how our algorithms perform in the real world, seek failure modes, and drive ways to efficiently 
improve and evaluate them.

The Core Model Safety team builds foundational capabilities for assisted and automated driving - collision avoidance, model understanding, and robustness under failure. 
You will work in a focused, high-impact senior team with strong ownership, access to large-scale training and fleet data, and close partners in research, simulation, evaluation, and applied 
engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on large-scale data enrichment within the Core Model Safety team, including collaborations with Pre/Midtraining, reward modelling, self-supervised labelling, and the Data Enrichment Platform. 

• Build workflows for large-scale enrichment, data curation, and hard/rare event mining in support of robust model performance and introspection.
