Recruitment Advisor

MiddleOn-site (London)Salary undisclosed
Job Description

Company Description

We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Recruitment Advisor to join our People & Talent team at BM Caterers.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some previous recruitment experience who is ready to develop their career, take greater ownership and gain experience managing recruitment from start to finish.

You’ll support our teams across BM Caterers, taking ownership of vacancies from advertising and candidate attraction through to offer and onboarding.

Hospitality recruitment is fast-paced and varied. One day you could be recruiting a Chef or Barista, the next a Hospitality Manager, General Manager or one of our operational roles. BM's existing recruitment activity covers a broad mix of frontline, culinary, hospitality and management positions.

You’ll work closely with hiring managers and operational teams, helping them find great people while making sure our candidates have a positive experience along the way.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday and hybrid, giving you a mix of home working and time spent connecting with our teams across the business. Work-related travel required as part of your role will be reimbursed in accordance with the company travel policy.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking ownership of vacancies from initial brief through to successful hire and onboarding
  • Working closely with hiring managers to understand their vacancies, priorities and recruitment needs
  • Creating engaging and accurate job adverts
  • Advertising and managing vacancies through our recruitment platform
  • Reviewing applications and CVs and identifying suitable candidates
  • Proactively sourcing candidates for current and future vacancies
  • Conducting initial candidate screening and suitability conversations
  • Shortlisting candidates and presenting suitable applicants to hiring managers
  • Coordinating interviews and supporting managers throughout the selection process
  • Conducting interviews where appropriate, virtually or at our sites
  • Keeping candidates informed throughout the process and providing a positive candidate experience
  • Supporting the offer and pre-employment process
  • Following successful candidates through to onboarding and helping ensure they are ready for their first day
  • Keeping recruitment systems and vacancy information accurate and up to date
  • Building candidate pipelines for recurring and harder-to-fill hospitality roles
  • Maintaining regular communication with managers and operational teams about their vacancies and candidate pipelines
  • Supporting recruitment events, careers fairs, open days and other attraction activities

Who you’ll be recruiting

Variety is a big part of the role. You could recruit across positions including:

  • Chefs at different levels
  • Kitchen Porters
  • Baristas
  • General Assistants
  • Front of House teams
  • Hospitality Assistants
  • Hospitality Managers
  • Catering Managers
  • General Managers
  • Operations roles
  • Other specialist and support positions

What we’re looking for

You don’t need years of recruitment experience to succeed in this role. We’re looking for someone with some recruitment experience who is ready to take the next step into an internal role where you can build your knowledge and take greater ownership.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience working in recruitment
  • An understanding of the recruitment process and candidate journey
  • Confidence communicating with candidates and hiring managers
  • A proactive approach to finding and engaging candidates
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage several vacancies and priorities at the same time
  • Good written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using recruitment systems and technology
  • A positive, solutions-focused approach
  • The confidence to build relationships with busy hiring managers
  • A genuine interest in people and providing a great candidate experience
  • A willingness to learn, develop and take ownership

Previous hospitality or high-volume recruitment experience would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential. What matters most is that you understand recruitment, enjoy working with people and are ready to develop your career in an internal recruitment environment.
