Construction Rigger - Memphis

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Construction Rigger to support the buildout of SpaceXAI's high-performance data centers. In this hands-on role, you will plan and execute lifts, land mechanical equipment, and keep construction moving on our next-generation AI supercomputing infrastructure.

You will work closely with mechanical, structural, electrical, and operations teams to rig, signal, and set loads from construction through turnover. This is a full-time, onsite role with significant travel to SpaceXAI data center sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and execute lifts using mobile and tower cranes (as signal person), forklifts, gantries, tuggers, chain falls, come-alongs, and other hoisting equipment.
• Inspect, select, and install slings, shackles, spreader bars, below-the-hook devices, and other rigging hardware; confirm working load limits, hitch type, and sling angles before a pick.
• Keep damaged, unlabeled, or out-of-date gear out of service and maintain an orderly rigging crib and laydown yard.
• Signal crane and forklift operators and run the lift team communication for the duration of the pick, including exclusion zones.
• Crib, block, roll, and land pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, skids, pipe racks, modules, and other mechanical gear.
• Assist with simple lift sketches, load paths, and field changes; flag drawing or lift-plan conflicts before the pick starts.
• Stage, move, and inventory rigging gear and construction materials; fetch and return tools and keep consumables stocked.
• Open and close work areas: protection, debris removal, scrap segregation, and end-of-shift reset so the next crew can start immediately.
• Follow LOTO, PPE, lift-permit, and site rules; do not start a lift without authorization and a clear exclusion zone.
• Report damaged gear, unsafe conditions, and near misses immediately.
• Support punch-list work and cleanup through system turnover.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Journey-level construction rigging experience: 3+ years of industrial or commercial construction rigging, completion of a recognized rigger or ironworker apprenticeship, or equivalent military experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience signaling cranes and executing lifts with slings, shackles, chain falls, come-alongs, and gantries or tuggers.
• Willingness to work at heights, outdoors, and on a changing data center construction site.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment safely.
• Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow site procedures, including lift permits and exclusion zones.
• Willingness to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical construction windows.
• Prior experience on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites.
• Familiarity with load charts, pick planning, and mechanical equipment sets (pumps, air handlers, cooling towers, skids).
• NCCCO Rigger certification (Level I or II) or equivalent.
• Qualified signal person certification.
• Forklift certification; aerial lift or scissor lift certification a plus.
• OSHA 10 or equivalent training.
• Ability to read plans, lift sketches, and equipment arrangement drawings.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel extensively to SpaceXAI data center construction sites and remain onsite during peak construction phases.
• Capability to work in industrial environments, climb ladders, lift and position moderate loads and rigging hardware, stand and walk for a full shift, and wear PPE for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
