The Senior UX Writer leads content quality within a tribe or domain. They create clear, consistent interaction content that reduces friction, improves task success, and supports users across flows and states. Senior UX writers: Own content for complex features and journeys; Shape editorial standards and content patterns; Collaborate deeply with design, research, and engineering; Bring evidence-based writing into product decisions & Elevate craft quality for the chapter 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

Preferred qualification 

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in writing, communications, journalism, linguistics, marketing, design, or a related field. Additional training or applied learning in UX writing, content design, editorial practice, copywriting, or content strategy is advantageous. 

Indicative experience:   

  • Typically 3–5+ years of UX writing or content design experience on complex products, services, or journeys. Demonstrates strong judgment, handles ambiguity well, and influences design decisions through content. 

 Systems and tools -Advanced proficiency in:

  • Figma (copy within flows, annotation, DS component literacy) 
  • Miro/FigJam for mapping content logic 
  • Design system tooling (content patterns, naming systems) 
  • Copy testing and comprehension methods 
  • Collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence, Notion, Google Suite) 
  • Accessibility checkers and writing-for-WCAG 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

  • Owns content end-to-end for a product domain or major feature set. 
  • Designs multi-state flows, error systems, naming, and messaging frameworks. 
  • Contributes to editorial guidelines and content patterns; improves consistency. 
  • Partners with UXRs; designs copy tests; applies research findings. 
  • Influences PMs, designers, engineers; clarifies system behaviour through content. 

WHO YOU ARE?

  • Be able to write clear, succinct, high-impact content for complex user tasks 
  • Be able to writes for multi-step flows, system messages, cross-channel interactions
  • Develops reusable content patterns (errors, confirmations, instructions)
  • Identifies copy-related issues during research 
  • Clarifies ambiguous logic in product requirements
