Job Description

Electrical Engineer

About the Role

X Shore's electrical systems — wiring harnesses, PCBs, and the assemblies that connect them — currently exist across documentation that's fragmented and inconsistent, making it hard for the team to purchase components with confidence or work from a single source of truth. We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to fix that, support the people building and reworking harnesses on the factory floor, and help design the EE platform that will underpin X Shore's next generation of boats.

This is a hands-on role spanning procurement support, production support, and forward-looking design work. You'll spend time cleaning up and structuring what exists, be in the factory helping production solve wiring and tooling problems, and contribute to a new electrical architecture from the ground up. You'll report to the Head of Software and Electronics and be based on-site in Nyköping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and structure documentation for wiring harnesses, PCBs, and electrical assemblies so it can be used confidently for purchasing and manufacturing

  • Support procurement by clarifying specifications, part numbers, and requirements for electrical components and assemblies

  • Work directly with production to support harness rework and manufacturing, identifying documentation gaps, design issues, and tooling needs

  • Investigate and resolve design issues surfacing during harness rework and manufacturing

  • Own the update and release of engineering changes to HV and LV systems as design issues are identified

  • Contribute to the development of X Shore's next-generation EE platform, taking ownership of significant portions of the design

  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams to ensure electrical designs are manufacturable and well documented

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally including wiring harness and PCB-level work

  • Experience with both high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) systems

  • Comfortable reading and creating wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness documentation

  • Practical experience working alongside production or manufacturing teams to resolve real-world build issues

  • Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus

  • Ability to work on-site in Nyköping

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience developing an EE platform or vehicle electrical architecture from scratch

  • Background in marine, automotive, or another complex hardware environment

  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and engineering change processes

  • Experience supporting procurement or supplier-facing documentation

Personal Qualities

Structured and thorough, comfortable turning ambiguity into clear documentation, and just as happy on the factory floor solving a rework issue as at a CAD workstation designing the next platform. Takes ownership, follows through, and communicates clearly across engineering, production, and procurement.

Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

  • Wiring harness, PCB, and electrical assembly documentation is consolidated, accurate, and usable for purchasing decisions

  • Production has a clear channel for flagging documentation gaps, design issues, and tooling needs, with visible turnaround

  • Outstanding HV/LV design issues have been resolved, released, and reflected in updated documentation

  • Meaningful progress made on the new EE platform, with clear ownership of key subsystems

Location & Structure

On-site at X Shore Factory & HQ, Nyköping. Reports to the Head of Software and Electronics.
