Put Your Healthcare Revenue Cycle Experience to Work
Are you an experienced healthcare accounts receivable professional looking for a remote opportunity where your skills and expertise can make a meaningful impact?
At Savista, we partner with healthcare organizations to simplify the complexities of revenue cycle management. Our teams help healthcare providers navigate insurance reimbursement, resolve outstanding claims, and improve financial performance.
We're looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist II to join our team. In this fully remote role, you'll use your experience with insurance follow-up, denial resolution, and Epic to investigate complex claims, resolve reimbursement challenges, and help ensure healthcare providers receive appropriate payment for services delivered.
If you enjoy problem-solving, navigating payer requirements, and taking ownership of claim resolution, this could be a great next step in your career.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll take an active part in managing insurance receivables and resolving outstanding claims. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research and resolve outstanding claims: Investigate unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims with commercial and government insurance payers.
- Navigate complex insurance requirements: Review payer guidelines, verify eligibility and authorizations, and identify billing discrepancies impacting reimbursement.
- Manage insurance follow-up: Communicate directly with payers through phone calls, online portals, and written correspondence to obtain claim status updates and resolve payment issues.
- Investigate denials and underpayments: Review EOBs, payer contracts, and claims data to identify discrepancies and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Prepare appeals and reconsiderations: Research denial reasons, submit technical appeals, and coordinate claims requiring additional documentation or clinical review.
- Maintain accurate account information: Update patient and insurance details, document account activity, and ensure claims are managed within timely filing requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams: Partner with colleagues across the revenue cycle to resolve claim issues and support efficient reimbursement processes.
- Meet quality and productivity goals: Manage an established workload of approximately 55 claims per day while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Protect patient information: Follow HIPAA regulations, company policies, and applicable healthcare billing and collections requirements.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who understands healthcare insurance reimbursement, is comfortable managing complex accounts, and enjoys finding solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up experience, including experience working with hospital systems and government or commercial insurance payers.
- Hands-on experience with Epic.
- Experience researching and resolving unpaid claims, insurance denials, underpayments, and reimbursement discrepancies.
- Knowledge of payer billing guidelines, coordination of benefits, and healthcare reimbursement processes.
- Experience reviewing EOBs and CMS-1500 claim forms.
- At least 3 years of experience using healthcare accounts receivable software.
- Experience navigating payer portals for claim status, eligibility verification, appeals, and reconsiderations, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet performance expectations in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both hospital/facility and physician/professional (pro-fee) accounts receivable.
