BIM MEP Specialist
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a BIM MEP Specialist based in India.
Join a global team delivering innovative Virtual Design and Construction solutions for complex, high-impact building and infrastructure projects. As a BIM MEP Specialist, you will develop accurate, coordinated models for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems using industry-standard tools. Beyond modeling, you will contribute to clash detection, constructability reviews, and the preparation of deliverables that support real-world construction and fabrication. Working remotely from India, you will collaborate directly with US-based project teams and experienced BIM leaders. This role offers valuable exposure to US construction standards, multidisciplinary coordination, and advanced digital construction workflows. You will also have opportunities to deepen your technical expertise and grow toward BIM coordination, automation, or technical leadership.
Accountabilities:
As a BIM MEP Specialist, you will support the development and delivery of high-quality building services models across multiple projects. You will ensure that models meet project requirements, follow established standards, and are ready for construction through effective coordination and collaboration.
-
Develop MEP BIM Models: Create detailed models for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and extra-low-voltage (ELV) systems using Autodesk Revit.
-
Coordinate Across Disciplines: Use Navisworks Manage or Simulate to perform clash detection, identify coordination issues, and help resolve conflicts between MEP, architectural, and structural systems.
-
Prepare Project Deliverables: Produce construction-ready drawings, sheets, schedules, quantity take-offs, and technical reports.
-
Collaborate with US-Based Teams: Work closely with project managers, BIM leaders, engineers, and other stakeholders to align models and deliverables with project requirements and site conditions.
-
Maintain BIM Standards: Apply established BIM workflows, templates, standards, and execution plans consistently across projects.
-
Ensure Model Quality and Constructability: Review model accuracy, completeness, and coordination to ensure deliverables are suitable for construction or fabrication.
-
Manage Digital Project Environments: Work within BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or equivalent common data environments to support model management, documentation, and team collaboration.
-
Support Continuous Improvement: Contribute to efficient modeling and coordination practices while developing expertise in MEP systems, constructability, and digital construction technologies.
-
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
-
Professional Experience: At least 3–5 years of relevant BIM and MEP modeling experience in the construction industry. Experience with US-based projects is preferred.
-
Revit Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, particularly its MEP capabilities, for developing detailed and accurate building services models.
-
Navisworks Expertise: Familiarity with Navisworks Manage or Simulate for clash detection, model coordination, and resolving interdisciplinary conflicts.
-
MEP Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and ELV systems, including their modeling and coordination within a BIM environment.
-
Architectural and Structural Coordination: Good understanding of architectural and structural models and how they interact with MEP systems.
-
English Communication: Good written and spoken English skills to support remote collaboration, technical documentation, and daily coordination with US-based teams.
-
BIM Standards and Quality: Ability to follow established workflows, templates, and modeling standards while maintaining strong attention to detail.
-
Remote Collaboration: Ability to manage deliverables independently, work effectively across time zones, and maintain consistent communication with distributed project teams.
-
Preferred International Experience: Exposure to US construction standards or experience delivering international BIM and construction projects.
-
Additional Technical Advantages: Familiarity with common data environments such as BIM 360, ACC, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
-
Automation and Fabrication: Experience with Dynamo, the Revit API, scripting, or fabrication support for MEP modeling is an advantage.
-
Remote Work: Fully remote position for candidates based in India.
-
International Project Exposure: Opportunity to contribute to complex, multidisciplinary projects while collaborating directly with US-based construction teams.
-
Professional Development: Build expertise in US construction standards, MEP coordination, constructability, and advanced BIM workflows.
-
Career Growth: Potential to progress into BIM coordination, automation, or technical leadership roles.
-
Technical Learning: Work alongside experienced BIM professionals, engineers, architects, and digital construction specialists.
-
Collaborative Environment: Join a performance-focused, project-driven team that prioritizes quality, coordination, and reliable delivery.
-
Compensation: Pay will be determined based on factors including skills, qualifications, location, and professional experience. No specific salary range or additional benefits were provided.
-
Working Hours: Overlap with US-based team working hours is required.
-
Equal Opportunity: The employer is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and considers all qualified applicants without discrimination.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in engineering and practical MEP modeling experience, combined with technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams in a remote environment.
Benefits:
