About the Role
FTI Consulting is seeking a Director to join our growing Transactions Financial Due Diligence team within Corporate Finance.
This is a hands-on deal leadership role for an experienced professional who wants to take ownership of complex financial due diligence engagements while working directly with clients, target management teams and senior FTI leaders.
As a Director, you will lead multiple engagements across the deal lifecycle, translating complex financial information into clear insights that help clients evaluate transaction opportunities and risks. You’ll have responsibility for engagement scope, workplans, budgets and timelines, while guiding project teams, reviewing their work and developing junior professionals.
The work spans key financial due diligence areas including Quality of Earnings (EBITDA), Working Capital, Quality of Net Assets, Forecasts, Debt and Debt-Like Items, customer/product/channel/category sales and margins, inventory costing and bill of materials.
Beyond execution, you’ll also have the opportunity to deepen client relationships, contribute to pitches and proposals and collaborate with colleagues across FTI Consulting’s broader network.
What You’ll Do
As a Director, you’ll combine technical financial expertise with project leadership, client management and team development. You will:
- Lead multiple financial due diligence engagements, taking ownership of scope, workplans, budgets, timelines and delivery.
- Analyze historical and pro forma financial information to identify earnings adjustments, cash flow drivers, trends and other issues that may influence deal valuation.
- Translate financial analysis into actionable deal insights, presenting findings to clients, lenders and deal teams.
- Engage directly with target management teams, assessing and interpreting responses and preparing for management presentations and Q&A.
- Own the quality of key deliverables, reviewing draft and final reports before they are delivered to clients, lenders and counsel.
- Lead and develop engagement teams, reviewing work and coaching colleagues on technical skills and professional development.
- Partner closely with senior FTI leadership, briefing Senior Managing Directors and Managing Directors on engagement progress, emerging issues and risks, and escalating changes to scope or fees when needed.
- Build client and internal relationships, supporting proposals, pitches and business-development efforts while connecting clients with expertise across other FTI Consulting service areas.
- Conduct industry and company research to strengthen financial analysis and client recommendations.
How You’ll Grow
This role provides an opportunity to broaden both your deal expertise and your leadership impact.
You’ll continue to build your experience across buy-side and sell-side transactions while taking greater ownership of engagements, client relationships and team development. You’ll work with diverse clients across industries and collaborate with experienced professionals across FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance organization and broader service areas.
For someone looking to go beyond financial analysis alone, this role offers the opportunity to develop across deal leadership, client advisory, project management, people development and business development while working on complex transactions.
