Manufacturing Logistics Manager

An automotive supplier needs a Logistics Manager to run materials and logistics for its plant, reporting straight to the General Manager. You will lead a small team, own the production schedule and act as the customer's main contact on delivery and packaging. The plant wants someone in the seat soon.
What you'll do
Turn customer orders into the master production schedule and set daily priorities
Order raw materials and manage their delivery schedule
Oversee shipping, receiving and inbound and outbound freight for the site
Manage carriers, track their performance and check freight bills
Make sure every shipment meets the customer's packaging requirements, and handle customer questions and complaints on logistics
Lead two direct reports: a customer materials coordinator and a scheduling coordinator
What you bring
5 to 10 years in logistics, materials or supply chain within manufacturing
Real people management experience, not only process ownership
Scheduling and materials planning on an ERP or MRP system such as AS400, JD Edwards, SAP or similar
Shipping and receiving management, including carrier relationships and freight billing
Direct customer contact on supply chain and packaging compliance
Clear writing and speaking; able to travel when needed
Nice to have: Hands-on AS400 experience.
