AECOM is seeking an experienced EPCM Delivery Manager to join us in Santiago de Chile.
You will be responsible for integrating AECOM’s multi-disciplinary engineering design teams with client project management units, global equipment vendors, and construction contractors. Acting as the core delivery liaison, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably, on schedule, and within budget while adhering to AECOM’s world-class quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery Leadership & Client Advisory
- Act as the primary EPCM/EPC delivery contact for major mining clients, ensuring seamless alignment between AECOM’s consulting services and client CapEx goals.
- Develop and execute project-specific Project Execution Plans (PEP), contracting strategies, and risk mitigation frameworks tailored to remote mining environments.
- Lead cross-functional integration across engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, metallurgical, electrical), global procurement, site construction management, and environmental services.
2. Contract Administration & Package Management
- Oversee procurement package execution for long-lead mining and processing equipment (e.g., grinding mills, crushers, flotation cells, thickeners, and material handling systems).
- Drive claims mitigation, scope change logging, and variation management to protect both client and company commercial interests.
3. Field Execution & Construction Oversight
- Coordinate seamlessly with site-based AECOM or client Construction Managers to maintain alignment between head-office engineering deliverables and field construction schedules.
- Manage complex interfaces between process plant engineering, site earthworks, tailings management facilities (TMF), and off-site infrastructure (power, water, rail/port roads).
4. Digital Engineering, Project Controls & Handover
- Leverage AECOM’s digital delivery tools (BIM, digital twins, Aconex, Primavera P6) to monitor critical path progress, earn-value performance, and design interface conflicts.
- Lead pre-commissioning readiness reviews, cold/hot commissioning interface planning, and operational readiness handovers to client mining operations teams.
- Prepare high-level executive dashboard reports and board-level project progress updates.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mining, Metallurgical, Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical) or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in project execution, project management, or procurement leadership within the mining sector.
- Demonstrated experience working on major CapEx mining projects ($100M+ CapEx) under both EPC and EPCM delivery models.
- English/Spanish proficiency.
Preferred Requirements
- P.Eng, PE, CEng, or PMP/PRINCE2 certification highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of mining infrastructure, mineral processing flowsheets, and tailings management safety frameworks (e.g., GISTM standards).
- Strong commercial acumen and hands-on experience administering FIDIC, NEC, or EPCM client-representative contracts.
- Experience with global supply chains, international equipment logistics, and site FIFO/DIDO execution.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and executive communication skills with a client-centric mindset.
