Role Overview

As a Patient Registration Rep, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient registration process. You will support patients, visitors, and clinical/non-clinical staff by managing registration activities, verifying insurance eligibility, and providing exceptional customer service. Your role is crucial in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring smooth operations within our healthcare system.

What You Will Do

• Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
• Perform new patient registration and update existing patient and insurance information.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf to meet their needs.
• Act as a welcoming front door, instilling loyalty and anticipating patient and visitor needs.
• Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management over the telephone, in person, and in writing.
• Instruct others on registration processes and procedures as needed.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training/experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.
