Rail Crew

Shift Information

• Full-time position
• Flexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Work may include outdoor exposure and varying weather conditions

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and trucks to transport customer orders and load them onto railcars using pneumatic and gas-powered tools (e.g., chainsaw, nail gun, tensioner, hammer).
• Inspect, operate, and maintain all tools and equipment; promptly report any malfunctions or hazards.
• Follow all Safe Job Instructions (SJIs), AAR loading guidelines, and federal, state, and local rail operation regulations.
• Maintain a clean and orderly rail area and assist with general yard and mill work as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members, and report any issues, incidents, or hazards immediately.

• Outdoor and rail yard environment with exposure to weather, dust, and noise
• Physical job involving standing, lifting, tool use, and working at heights

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience

• Prior experience in rail yard, warehouse, or industrial setting a plus
• Forklift operation experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate pneumatic and gas-powered tools
• Familiarity with railcar loading standards (AAR guidelines) is a plus
• Must complete all required safety and compliance training

Pay/Benefits/Perks

• $18/hr
• Accrue up to five days PTO in first year. Two-weeks vacation, plus one week PTO accrue on first anniversary.
