Recruitment Associate (Mexico Remote)
Remote LatAm - Mexico Contract 10+ yrs
About Magic
For over 10 years, Magic has connected top remote talent with fast-growing businesses, backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital, with thousands of remote workers worldwide.
Role Overview
No recruiting experience? Good. We'll teach you.
Every Magic Executive Assistant starts as a candidate someone said "yes" to. In this seat, that someone is you. You'll find and talk to Latin American candidates (Mexico first) who want to join Magic's Executive Assistant Training, and judge their English, experience, and readiness before anyone else spends a minute on them.
You'll learn the whole recruitment process hands-on: posting ads, reviewing resumes, running interviews, coaching the almost-ready, and endorsing the ready. It's fast, sometimes chaotic, and there isn't an SOP for every situation. If you like talking to people all day and figuring things out, you'll grow quickly here.
You're measured on three things: Productivity (35%), Work Quality (35%), and Accountability (30%).
This is a full-time freelance engagement: 40 hours a week, exclusive to Magic.
Shift: You'll start on 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM CST (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM PHT) for your first two months, then move to 8 AM to 5 PM CST.
- A fresh graduate or someone early in their career. Psychology, HR, communications, business, or any degree where you worked with people is a plus
- No recruiting experience needed. School orgs, events, customer service, call centers, tutoring, and internships all count
- Fluent Spanish and English, spoken and written. Exceptional English is non-negotiable
- Living in Mexico (this role is open to Mexico-based candidates only for now)
- Basic Google Workspace know-how (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs)
- Available for 40 hours a week on the schedule above
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor, exclusive to Magic: you can't work for another company while engaged, due to NDA
- Your own WFH setup and equipment (computer, reliable internet, headset). Magic doesn't provide equipment
Core skills: Communication · High Energy · Coachability · "PLOW" Mindset (plow through obstacles instead of waiting for perfect conditions)
What You'll Learn
- How to run structured, fair interviews
- How to judge English communication and job readiness
- How to source candidates and write job ads that work
- How a fast-growing global staffing company hires at scale
