Summary
This role involves building production LLM agents for pricing, marketing, and reporting, extracting data from documents, and managing the AI lifecycle. Requires 5+ years of AI product experience with Python/TypeScript.
Location: New York, NY (onsite, 5 days)
Pay: $220,000–$300,000 + equity
A fast-growing, venture-backed software and payments company is hiring an applied AI engineer to build agents its customers use every day. Each engineer owns a full product area, and work reaches customers the same week it's written.
What you'll do
Build production LLM agents for pricing, marketing and reporting
Extract structured data from messy real-world documents
Build embedding-based matching and retrieval
Own the evaluation and tracing harnesses
Take models from prototype to production, shipping weekly
What you bring
5+ years building and shipping AI products
Strong TypeScript and/or Python
Experience across the full AI lifecycle, including evals
Uses AI coding tools to work in parallel
BS, MS or PhD in CS or related, or equivalent experience
Nice to have: LLM context and harness engineering; LLM observability tooling; Postgres with vector search
