The XBAT aircraft will take off and land vertically, requiring development of an axisymmetric vectoring exhaust nozzle (AVEN). This effort includes development of nozzle concepts that balance thrust-vector control authority, weight, thermal capability, structural integrity, and manufacturability. Engineering scope includes aerodynamic design, kinematic and mechanical integration, heat transfer analysis, material selection, and validation planning to support high-performance unmanned aircraft operation.

As an XBAT AVEN Mechanical Design Staff Engineer at GE Aerospace, you will lead the design, procurement, and development of components for the vectoring exhaust nozzle module for the F110 engine as a hardware and/or sub-module owner. This role is for a passionate engineering problem solver who understands the design process, tackles technical challenges head-on, and excels at teamwork and collaboration. This position may report to an engineering manager in either Lynn, MA or Evendale, OH with the opportunity to integrate with various internal & external engineering disciplines.
