Turn your technical passion into practical skills. We are seeking an IT Support Intern to provide prompt, professional technical assistance via phone, email, chat, or remote-control tools. You’ll diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network problems to minimize employee or client downtime.
Responsibilities:
- First-Contact Support: Answer incoming calls, emails, and live chats; act as the first line of defense for user issues.
- Issue Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Resolve standard problems with operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux), office productivity suites (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), and local printers or peripherals.
- Hardware Configuration & Software Installation: Configure, assemble, and deploy desktop and laptop hardware, while installing and setting up operation systems and authorized business software applications.
- Account & Access Management: Handle password resets, multi-factor authentication (MFA) setups, and basic user provisioning in directories like Active Directory.
- Ticket Logging & Documentation: Record all incidents, steps taken, and resolutions accurately inside a ticketing system.
- Escalation: Transfer unresolved or complex issues to Level 2/Level 3 technical teams with clear notes.
- Follow-Up: Contact users after a fix to confirm the problem is truly resolved and document solutions in the internal knowledge base.
- Assist in asset management and pre-prepping equipment for business use.
- Assist in IT Infrastructure ongoing projects.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Pay Rate:
$20.00/hr.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Bachelor’s degree program in Information Technology (IT) / Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience, relevant coursework, or active involvement in campus organizations is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in Windows, macOS, or Linux environments.
- Knowledge of PC components, basic setup/deployment, peripheral installation, and printer configuration.
- Comfort using Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or standard ticket management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid time management skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to lift, move, and transport IT equipment (such as desktop computers, monitors, printers, peripherals) weighing up to 25 pounds.
