PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

The Statistical Modeling and Innovative Solutions team partners with colleagues across Quantitative Sciences and other cross-functional teams to develop and apply innovative approaches to optimize study designs and clinical development plans, strengthen data‑driven decisions, and support evidence and insights generation across the argenx portfolio.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative study design and analysis methods in clinical trials, such as adaptive designs, external/hybrid/synthetic control, model-informed drug development, and Bayesian approaches.

  • Pilot and integrate fit-for-purpose AI/ML solutions for disease modeling and precision-medicine applications, building the internal capability and external partnerships to leverage emerging technology and diverse data sources with statistical and scientific rigor.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate internal and external evidence in a quantitative framework and translate it into transparent, data-driven decision recommendations.

  • Provide statistical consultation on study design and analysis to address challenges in clinical projects.

  • Contribute statistical expertise to regulatory interactions on novel and complex designs, including preparing briefing materials and engaging with health authorities.

  • Strengthen organizational capability in innovative drug development by mentoring junior statisticians and leading trainings and seminars on advanced methodologies and their practical implementation.

  • Contribute to and influence the external scientific community on behalf of argenx through publications, presentations, and industry and academic collaborations.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced methodologies in pharmaceutical statistics and data science

  • Excellent modeling and simulation capabilities, with advanced proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R and Python, and familiarity with cloud computing and version control systems.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills to enable effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field with 6+ years of relevant pharma/biotech clinical development experience (or equivalent).

  • Strong track record of proposing and implementing innovative trial designs.

  • Candidates must be located in Belgium or US (EST time zone) to be considered for this role.


The annual base salary hiring range for this position is €100,000.00 - €137,500.00 EUR




This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentives program.

 

The hiring range displayed above is the range of possible base pay compensation that argenx believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting. The hiring range is based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills. argenx may pay more or less than the posted range and this range may be modified in the future.
