The Composites Design Engineer will develop composite primary and secondary structure for an advanced narrowbody aircraft through conceptual and preliminary design. The role integrates structural design, preliminary analysis, material and process selection, joints, producibility, inspection, durability, and repair considerations. This position will be based onsite at our South Burlington, VT office location, our Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid role, with monthly visits to South Burlington, VT for in person work.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Develop composite structural concepts and detailed three-dimensional definition for skins, spars, ribs, frames, panels, control surfaces, fairings, and integrated joints
- Perform laminate, sandwich, bonded-joint, bolted-joint, stability, and preliminary strength trades to guide structural configuration and sizing
