Job Description

The Technology Product Owner , Sales Technology is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement of technology products that enable Commercial Operations, Sales Enablement, Marketing, and the Field Sales Organization across specialty groups.

This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring sales representatives, managers, and commercial leaders have the tools, processes, insights, and data necessary to drive growth, improve customer engagement, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The successful candidate will lead a portfolio of capabilities spanning Salesforce CRM, opportunity management, physician intelligence, sales enablement, territory planning, forecasting, customer engagement, digital field tools, analytics, AI-driven insights, and commercial process automation. The role combines product strategy, business process transformation, Agile delivery leadership, and deep partnership with commercial stakeholders to drive measurable business outcomes.

 Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and value realization strategy for the specialty Sales Technology portfolio.
  • Translate commercial objectives, field feedback, customer needs, and business priorities into actionable product roadmaps and investment plans.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations, Sales Leadership, Marketing, Professional Education, and Sales Enablement teams to identify opportunities that improve field effectiveness and customer engagement.
  • Define and track success metrics, KPIs, and business outcomes including seller productivity, CRM adoption, pipeline visibility, forecast accuracy, customer engagement, and revenue enablement.
  • Prioritize investments across products and platforms based on strategic value, business impact, technical feasibility, and organizational readiness.

Commercial Technology Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology capabilities supporting Commercial Operations and Sales Enablement.
  • Partner with engineering teams, architects, analysts, and delivery partners to execute roadmaps and deliver business value.
  • Manage product backlogs, feature prioritization, user story development, sprint planning, and release execution.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Drive technology adoption through change management, training, communications, and feedback mechanisms.

Salesforce CRM & Commercial Platforms

  • Serve as product leader for Salesforce CRM and supporting commercial technology platforms.
  • Drive optimization of account management, contact management, opportunity management, territory management, forecasting, case management, and commercial workflows.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to improve data quality, business processes, reporting, and user experiences.
  • Evaluate and prioritize platform enhancements that increase field efficiency and reduce administrative burden.
  • Collaborate with enterprise platform teams to maximize value from Salesforce, AI, analytics, and other commercial technologies.

Sales Effectiveness & Enablement

  • Champion initiatives that improve seller productivity and streamline field execution.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement teams to deliver solutions that support onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing field effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and enhance customer-facing workflows.
  • Leverage user research, field engagement, and customer feedback to continuously improve digital experiences.
  • Ensure technology solutions align with evolving field sales processes and customer engagement strategies.

AI, Analytics & Innovation

  • Identify and champion opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, automation, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative solutions that improve customer insights, opportunity identification, pipeline management, and commercial execution.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to enable actionable reporting, dashboards, and commercial intelligence capabilities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of commercial technology innovation.

Agile Product Operating Model

  • Serve as a champion of the business's operating model.
  • Foster a culture of user-centricity, experimentation, transparency, continuous learning, and outcome-based delivery.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and product governance activities.
  • Promote data-driven prioritization and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Continuously measure and improve team performance, delivery effectiveness, and business value realization.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships with Commercial Operations, Sales Leadership, Marketing, Professional Education, Finance, Data & Analytics, and Technology organizations.
  • Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams regarding priorities, investments, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Lead discovery activities, process mapping, journey mapping, and business capability assessments.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap decisions, risks, and tradeoffs effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Influence and drive organizational alignment without direct authority.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Technology, Commercial Operations, Sales Technology, CRM, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering technology solutions supporting commercial, sales, or customer-facing organizations.
  • Experience managing complex product portfolios and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience working in Agile product delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of CRM platforms, sales processes, customer engagement, and commercial operations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into technology solutions and measurable outcomes.

Preferred

  • Salesforce CRM platform experience, including Sales Cloud and related commercial applications.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with commercial analytics, physician intelligence, territory planning, forecasting, or sales enablement solutions.
  • Experience leveraging AI, Generative AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve commercial outcomes.
  • Product Management certifications (SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Scrum Product Owner, Pragmatic Institute, or equivalent).
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
