Global Data Steward - Inventory Planning (m/f/d)
This role plays a pivotal role in shaping and governing master data standards for Inventory Planning within a globally acting Pharmaceutical and MedTech company. Acting as the bridge between business and technology, this role combines data governance expertise with a strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory optimization principles, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with global process owners, functional experts, and approximately 40 manufacturing sites worldwide, the position is responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality master data while translating business requirements into effective data structures, governance concepts, and operational processes. As part of a broader business transformation, the role will drive data quality initiatives, support data migrations, and actively contribute to the design of future inventory planning processes and responsibilities.
Your responsibilities:
Define, implement, and continuously improve global master data standards, governance frameworks, and data policies for Inventory Planning.
Develop and maintain clear data object definitions, ownership structures, and governance processes.
Translate business requirements into effective data governance solutions supporting inventory planning and supply chain objectives.
Collaborate with approximately 40 manufacturing sites worldwide to harmonize master data standards and planning concepts.
Partner with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehousing, Quality, and Production to align business and data strategies.
Understand and challenge business requirements by applying knowledge of inventory planning, supply-demand dynamics, and inventory optimization principles.
Drive discussions with diverse global stakeholders and facilitate alignment across functions, regions, and organizational levels.
Support the design and implementation of future-state processes, roles, responsibilities, and governance structures.
Lead data cleansing and data migration activities as part of global business transformation and system implementation projects.
Monitor data quality KPIs, resolve master data issues, and promote data governance best practices across the organization.
Your qualifications:
University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Management, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in Inventory Planning, Supply Chain Management, Data Governance, Master Data Management, or a related discipline within the Pharmaceutical, MedTech, or a similarly regulated industry.
Strong understanding of inventory planning processes, supply-demand concepts, and inventory optimization principles.
Ability to understand business challenges, identify optimization opportunities, and translate requirements into sustainable solutions.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to interpret data, planning parameters, and business impacts.
Experience working in complex global organizations with multiple stakeholders, functions (e.g. Quality, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehousing), and manufacturing sites.
Proven ability to engage, influence, and align diverse stakeholder groups across organizational levels and geographies.
Proactive and self-driven mindset with the ability to initiate discussions, drive topics forward, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
Hands-on experience with data cleansing, data migration, and data quality management initiatives.
Familiarity with SAP solutions and master data management processes.
Business fluency in English.
