Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, this role supports preventative and reactive maintenance activities, equipment improvements, and continuous operational performance while maintaining compliance with company safety and maintenance procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Report directly to the Engineering Team Leader.
Work closely with Technicians, Operators, Team Leaders, and Managers across departments.
Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities with Production and Planning teams.
Provide maintenance coverage during holidays and other periods of absence as required.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the maintenance department and across site.
Perform maintenance on plant equipment, including reaction and mixing vessels, decant stations, and pumping systems.
Update Emaint to accurately record maintenance activities and equipment history.
Record and analyse maintenance and production data to support operational performance.
Assist in the development and implementation of standard maintenance operating procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure all maintenance work complies with company procedures, permits, risk assessments, and method statements.
Support plant improvements, modifications, and the installation of new equipment.
Minimum Requirements
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Demonstrated fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Authorization to work in the country of employment.
Preferred Requirements
Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) Licence.
Awareness of DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations).
Experience writing or managing permit-to-work documentation.
Proficiency in CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience supporting equipment procurement, installation, or plant improvement projects.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
