Lila Sciences is building an autonomous platform for biological discovery, and high-throughput mammalian cell transfection is one of the workhorses that feeds it. The Engineer executes electroporation and lipofection workflows that supply downstream applications across protein expression, gene delivery, and functional characterization.
This is a hands-on bench role. You will run cells through a tightly orchestrated daily cadence on automated systems, document everything cleanly, and partner with scientists and platform engineers who depend on consistent, well-characterized cell deliveries. Success looks like reliable throughput, healthy cells out the door, and tight feedback loops with the teams downstream.
What You'll Be Building
- Execute mammalian cell transfection workflows (electroporation, lipofection) to scheduled cadence
- Maintain healthy cell lines through routine passage, media changes, and aseptic technique
- Operate and troubleshoot automated liquid handlers and electroporation instruments
- Document every run thoroughly in lab notebooks and electronic systems for downstream traceability
- Assess cell health and viability at each handoff; flag deviations early
