Job Description

This position manages the relationship with a selection of customers to execute the company's green beans and coffee soluble sales strategy in the Middle East region. A strong focus on Turkish market required, good knowledge of the market and major players is a plus.

 

Sales Strategy:  Aid in the execution of the global coffee sales strategy for green and soluble coffee in selected countries of the MEA region. Grow LDC coffee volumes in line with the Business plan, whilst improving the P/L and managing the risk of the desk. Help the platform grow in key markets like Turkey through the development of relations and acquisition of new accounts, for all coffee products.
 

This position will support the business development in the region through proposals, planning and possibly implementation of new trade flows through but not limited to creative logistics, strategic positions, off takes agreement, sustainability projects, etc. allowing the extension of our commercial reach and sales growth.

 

Commercial: Understand region needs and answer to these needs in a commercial manner, sustain the relationships with the key customers through commercial actions. Promote LDC’s products and teams to the clients.

 

Market intelligence: gather and feed the Coffee platform with local market information (supply, demand, prices, competition, trends), to elevate the debate about market data and balance sheet with colleagues during Platform calls.

 

Execution: Oversee and coordinate execution of the transactions until fulfilment, control of possible demurrage, inventory management, invoice payments, risk exposure, quality control etc, from origin to final contracted terms. This position will guide the support functions to meet our contractual obligation while defending the best interest of the company. Ability to put in place innovative execution/logistic solutions within Turkey.

 

Reporting: Use existing reporting tools to ensure that correct information is reported. Support the continuous improvement of our internal information systems.

 

Experience: 3 - 5 years minimum of experience working in Coffee industry, in a trading company is a plus / Sales experience in the MEA region is required.

Knowledge: Detailed Knowledge of coffee: Sensory, defects, Quality. Good understanding of coffee demand and coffee production dynamics. Good understanding of supply chain management related to coffee. Strong focus on Turkish market required, good knowledge of the market and major players is a plus.

Education: University degree: Agronomy, engineering, finance & economics, business

Languages: English/Turkish is required – Arabic is a plus

Technical/ Functional skills:

Industry: Good understanding of coffee price structure (differential, futures) + supply chain and contract terms (incoterms, risks, and costings)

Systems: Advanced user of Excel, good understanding and use of IT tools in general is required (outlook, power point, ability to learn to use CRM & front systems)

Additional Information

Presence at the office is required four days a week

Regular business trips are necessary to maintain the business relationship with key clients
