Assistant Director of the Writing Center
The Assistant Director supports the multifaceted functions of the College Writing Center as a professional writing tutor and works with the Writing Center Director to provide direct support, training and oversight of peer writing tutors. They offer expert guidance across a wide range of audiences.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, hourly position with a hiring range of $28.98 - $34.09 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:
· Serves as the primary professional writing tutor for Middlebury students, assisting undergraduate students at all stages of the writing process across multiple subject areas and genres.
· In coordination with Writing Center director, designs and leads trainings and workshops for peer writing tutors.
· Plans and conducts campus outreach, information sessions and workshops for students and faculty, and manages drop-in hours for the Writing Center.
· With Writing Center director, establishes and maintains metrics for assessing outcomes and trends. Leverages data analytics to track and evaluate student progress, engagement, and impact.
· Supports Writing Center director in managing administration of the Writing Center, including events such as the Paul W
