Humanities Newsletter Fellow (26-27 AY 902283)

Create and collaborate on an online student-run humanities newsletter to be issued four times per academic year (but only twice in Spring 2027).

This is a Middlebury student Level B position paying $14.95 per hour.

Core Responsibilities:

• ​​Write short, public-facing articles on humanities-related events at Middlebury and/or topics related to (inter)national debates in the humanities (250-750 words each) 
• ​Interview faculty members doing innovative work in the humanities and write short profiles to be published in the Newsletter (250-750 words each) 
• ​Attend, report on, and photograph humanities-related events at Middlebury 
• ​Meet with Axinn Center directors and other Fellows for periodic check-ins, progress reports, and updates (approximately every two weeks) 
• ​Write posts for the Axinn Center Instagram account 
• ​Work collaboratively with other Newsletter Fellows ​ 

Requirements

• ​​Strong written and oral communication skills 

• ​​Ability to work independently and collaboratively  

• ​Ability to stick to deadlines 

• ​A strong foundation in humanistic inquiry (i.e. all fellows should have taken courses in the humanities)
