Job Description

Laboratory Technician Intern

Does it excite you to work at a biotech company dedicated to discovering, designing, and developing innovative peptide-based medicines, and do you have a passion for analytical techniques? If this sounds like you, and you are ready to take on a broad area of responsibilities, then you could be our new colleague.

Your new position
As a Laboratory Technician Intern at Zealand Pharma, you will take on a central role in our research and development projects — real hands-on experience that builds directly on what you've learned in your education. You will focus on stability studies and characterization of peptides in early development phases, contributing directly to projects that advance our pipeline, while being mentored by experienced colleagues along the way. This is a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to advanced analytical techniques in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

We offer exciting responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical and physical analyses using techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, SEC, MS, pH measurements, DLS, CD, and Flowcam, among others
  • Participate in cross-functional collaborations, playing an important role in the development process
  • Carry out pre-formulation work
  • Help automate our laboratory equipment
  • Document and report experimental results in accordance with internal quality standards

Your profile
You have a genuine interest in analytical techniques and sample preparation, take initiative, and are ready to take ownership of your own tasks. You thrive in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is key — and you bring the courage to challenge common thinking and the team spirit to help those around you succeed.

  • Genuine interest in analytical techniques and laboratory sample preparation
  • Structured, detail-oriented approach to laboratory work
  • Motivated, proactive, and ready to take ownership of tasks
  • Thrive in a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on collaboration
  • Proficient in English, as it is our corporate language
  • Completed the theoretical part of the laboratory technician education no later than February 1, 2026

Your new team
You will join Pharmaceutical Development, a department of 7 laboratory technicians, 5 analytical chemists, 7 formulation chemists, 3 drug substance specialists, 1 CMC project manager, and 2 managers. We work closely together — both within the team and across departments — and always support one another when needed. Our department is guided by a simple but powerful goal: "Help a colleague succeed," and we look for that same spirit in everyone who joins us.

Let's bond and be bold
We have a unique culture, characterized by excellent teamwork and strong engagement across the organization. And we want you to help us strengthen this culture.

Making bonds is at the core of everything we do. From discovering and developing the best new peptide drugs for patients, to engaging with our partners or connecting with each other. We bond through curiosity and playfulness as a team, allowing ourselves to challenge common thinking and drive future innovation. Join us and let's bond and be bold.

Interested in bonding with us? Then please apply no later than September 30, 2026, or as soon as possible. The applications will be reviewed as they come in. While a cover letter is not required, please include a few sentences in your CV explaining your motivation for applying.

For further information, please contact Senior Manager, Head of Pharmaceutical Development Laboratory, Gitte Hoffmann, [email protected], or Laura Pipaluk Vejlemand Pejkic, [email protected].

We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and welcome applications from all job applicants.
