Senior HR Business Partner CRO
The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) Risk is responsible for delivering the Risk people agenda through close collaboration with HR Communities of Expertise (CoEs), People Services and senior Risk leadership. The role translates the Global Risk strategy and priorities into impactful people initiatives and serves as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the global Risk organisation.
The team
Corporate Staff Departments (CSD) comprises approximately 10,000 employees across more than 40 countries and includes functions such as Risk, Finance, Legal, HR, Communications & Brand Experience, and CAS.
As one of ING's largest global functions, Risk plays a critical role in safeguarding the bank’s strategy, financial resilience, and regulatory obligations. The Senior HRBP of Risk partners closely with senior Risk leaders, helping shape the organisation’s talent, leadership, and people agenda.
Roles and responsibilities
In this role, you will partner with leaders across the global Risk function and translate business priorities into a strategic people agenda. Responsibilities include:
Lead the global people strategy for Risk, ensuring the organisation has the talent, leadership, and capabilities to deliver its strategic objectives.
Partner and challenge senior leaders on organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, operating model evolution, and strategic people decisions.
Drive the talent agenda, including succession planning, leadership development, executive hiring, retention, and capability building.
Use people analytics and workforce insights to support decision-making, identify risks, and enhance organisational performance.
Shape performance and reward strategies that foster a high-performance culture aligned with business priorities and risk culture.
Lead organisational transformation, strengthening effectiveness, governance, and HR capability to support sustainable business performance.
Deliver key HRBP topics including organisational design, leadership and talent management, succession planning, performance management, and workforce planning.
Collaborate closely with HR Communities of Expertise and People Services to deliver impactful people initiatives.

Strong knowledge of organisational design, leadership practices, HR disciplines, and external market trends.
Proven track record as a change agent with a results-driven mindset and the ability to drive execution.
Excellent communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
Confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively and act as a trusted advisor.
Experience operating in complex international, matrix-led organisations.
Demonstrated success leading organisational, cultural, and business transformation initiatives.
Strong workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning experience.
Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
High personal credibility, self-awareness, and a people-focused leadership style committed to talent development.
Strong English proficiency; regulatory experience is considered an advantage.
