Construction Inspector

About the Position

We’re seeking a Construction Inspector (Highway Structures) to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs, including highways, roads, and bridges delivered through both traditional and alternative delivery methods. You’ll inspect structure work against Caltrans standards and the approved contract documents, and keep a clear, defensible record of the work. Hands-on experience with CIDH piles (drilled shafts) and retaining walls is required.

This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in the greater Los Angeles metro area. Construction runs during night and weekend closures, so regular night and weekend shifts are part of the job.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Inspect roadway concrete structures, including but not limited to cast-in-place/prestressed concrete box girder bridges, precast girder bridges, soil nail and ground anchor walls.
• Inspect CIDH pile construction for walls, soundwalls, and sign structure foundations, from drilling and bottom cleaning through cage and concrete placement and confirm integrity testing is complete before th
